This stage includes the final operations necessary for making the textile presentable and attractive. It imparts the final aesthetic, chemical and mechanical properties to the fabric as per the end use requirements. The finishing operations include: drying, calendaring, softening, providing dimensional stability and sometimes foam lamination is also done. Apart from the above mentioned finishing operations many other special properties depending upon requirements such as protection from rain, wind, cold, sunlight, fire resistance, etc., are provided.
